Russia: Putin lauds Kazakh efforts in resolving Syrian conflict

Russian President Vladimir Putin commended Kazakhstan for its role in resolving the Syrian crisis, during the XIV Forum of Interregional Cooperation of Russia and Kazakhstan in Chelyabinsk on Thursday. Putin thanked Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev for hosting Astana peace talks, noting that «thanks to Astana negotiations, a possibility of solving the Syrian crisis and reaching an accord... Еще between the Syrians on the political settlement [of the conflict] emerged.» The Forum for Interregional cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia is held annually in Russia and Kazakhstan alternately. This year's forum was under the banner of «Development of Human Capital» and ended with a joint statement marking 25 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
