Russia: Putin inaugurates Soviet victims monument in Moscow

Russian President Vladimir Putin inaugurated a monument honouring victims of the Soviet political repression, 'The Wall of Grief', in Moscow, Monday. «It is important to know and remember about this tragic period of our history when whole ethnic and social groups, including workers and peasants, engineers and military leaders, priests and public officers as well as scientists and cultural... Еще figures, were subjected to repression,» said Putin. The Russian leader stressed that «our terrible past must not be obliterated from our national memory and it cannot be justified by anything.» It is estimated that more than 720,000 people were killed during Great Terror of the 1930s.
