Russia: Putin hopes French businessmen will feel 'more comfortable' working in Russia than at home

Russian President Vladimir Putin hoped that it will be «more comfortable» for French businessmen to work in Russia than at home in France, speaking at a meeting with representatives of the French-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) in Novo-Ogaryovo, Moscow Oblast, Monday. Putin noted that customs procedures in Russia are becoming easier and credits «more affordable». He mentioned that the Russian Federation went up in the global annual Doing Business rating, which measures business regulations in 190 countries around the world. The Russian leader pointed out that Russia is now 35th on the list, four points lower than France, leading him to suppose that Russia could «catch up» with France soon.
