Russia: Putin discusses initiatives for disabled people at Russian State Specialised Academy

Vladimir Putin visited the Russian State Specialised Academy of Arts to discuss the «Accessible Environment» State programme and other relevant issues for people with disabilities, in Moscow on Tuesday. The President said that «people with disabilities contribute significantly to economic and cultural development, take part in social and political life, achieve amazing results in sports, win at... Еще prestigious international competitions.» He went on saying that the «authorities should see at all levels through the figures of plans and programmes the problems of individual human beings need support.» The «Accessible Environment» State programme is aimed at creating barrier-free accesses for physically challenged people in important buildings and services. The Academy is the only higher educational establishment in the world that provides people with limited physical abilities to have higher education in the arts: music, theatre and painting.
