Russian President Vladimir Putin called on Russian citizens to have their say in the constitutional amendments vote, speaking from Rzhev on Tuesday.
Putin asked that people vote «not just for amendments that are denounced in clear legal norms» but for the country «we want to live in, with modern education and healthcare, with reliable social protection of citizens, with an effective government that is accountable to society.»
«I want to thank everyone who has already made their choice. Tomorrow, on July 1, is the main voting day. I ask you, dear friends, to say your word. The voice of each of you is the most important and the main one», the Russian leader concluded.
The plebiscite on the amendments, which range from better pensions and minimum wages to a reset of term limits that would allow Putin to run again for a fifth time in 2024, began on June 25 and runs until July 1.
