Russia: 'Proud to bridge nations' — ISS Expedition crews hold pre-flight presser

The main and backup crews of Expedition 56/57 to the International Space Station (ISS) held a pre-flight press conference at the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre in Star City, Moscow Region on Monday. The main crew of the expedition is made up of Roscosmos cosmonaut Sergei Prokopiev, NASA astronaut Serena Maria Aunon-Chancellor and ESA (European Space Agency) astronaut Alexander Gerst... Еще, while the backup crew comprises of Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko, CSA (Canadian Astronaut Corps) astronaut David Saint-Jacques and NASA astronaut Anne McClain. David Saint-Jacques said that for him, the most important aspect of the mission is the international one, adding that teams are «proud to be one of the bridges between nations» and stressing that they «can work together and achieve amazing things.» Cosmonaut Prokopiev explained that he has about 60 experiments to perform in space, including medical and scientific experiments. Prokopiev also received his astronaut's license ahead of his first flight into space. The launch of their Soyuz MS-06 spacecraft is scheduled for 6 June, 2018, from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
