Russian presidential candidate Ksenia Sobchak declared that she will not campaign in Crimea because she believes it was illegally annexed, when speaking from a Q&A session with her supporters and staff in Yekaterinburg on Friday.
She said that «Russia has violated its obligations» and that this shall become a «starting point» in her campaign. In her opinion, the only way to ease Russia-Ukraine... Еще tensions over Crimea is a «new independent referendum.»
The event was held at the Sol office, where 200 people reportedly gathered to meet Sobchak. Speaking about the election race, she admitted that she will soon appoint a chief of staff adding that the funds raised do not yet allow for a «large-scale and extensive campaign».
On October 18 Ksenia Sobchak announced her candidacy for the Russian presidential elections, which are set to take place on 18 March 2018.
