Alexei Sankov was one of the passengers on board the Onur Air Airbus 321 from Antalya to Chelyabinsk, when it was forced to perform an emergency landing at Volgograd airport on Sunday night. Senkov recounted the horrific experience when the flight suddenly dropped 9,000 metres (30,000 ft), speaking in Chelyabinsk on Tuesday. «It began with the fact that just during the boarding I did not like... Еще the engines’ sound,” he said. The man added that the plane was shaking during the flight and then all of a sudden «a light was turned on, sensors squeaked and masks were thrown out.» Senkov stated that the situation became worse as the cabin crew did not speak neither Russian nor English, and the passengers panicked as they tried to put on their oxygen masks. The plane was carrying 226 passengers and eight crew members. According to preliminary reports of the Volgograd airport authorities, the main cause of the emergency landing was depressurisation of the cabin. Russia’s investigative committee has started an examination into the case.
