Russian Transport Minister Maksim Sokolov, Head of the Federal Air Navigation Service Alexander Neradko, and the head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Transport Viktor Basargin informed the public of the latest developments on the plane crash in the region, while speaking to journalists at Moscow's Domodedovo on Sunday. Relatives of the victims will receive «additional compensations... Еще amounting one million roubles» (US $17,000) on top of the two million roubles (US $34,000) they would receive from insurance companies, said Sokolov while vowing to provide psychological assistance to the relatives of the victims. He concluded his statement reminding the media that a special committee is investigating the cause and warned the journalists not to jump to conclusions. Neradko stated that Saratov Airlines had no problems regarding the flight safety recently, adding that, however, Rosaviation will conduct a snap investigation to look into the activities of the airline once again. Basargin confirmed that all people on board lost their lives, announcing that the identification process will be launched shortly. The press conference came after a Saratov Airlines plane that was en-route to the city of Orsk, vanished from radar screens shortly after it took off from Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport, before reportedly crashing some 80 kilometres (50 miles) south-east of the capital.
