Inventor and YouTube meister Vasily Starostin put his foot to the floor and showed off what his converted 1956 Gaz 20 Pobeda [Victory] could do at an airport in the town of Sharya in Russia’s Kostroma Region, Wednesday. “The idea was to build a car that was as light and fast as possible to perform various stunts. Then after celebrating the 70th Victory Day anniversary we decided that our car... Еще should look like a Gaz 20 Pobeda,” Starostin said. Only the original shell of the classic car remains, having completely replaced the chassis, interior and engine. His supped up Gaz produces 550 horsepower, capable of propelling the four-wheel drive vehicle from 0-100 kph (0-62 mph) in under four seconds. “We plan to do jumps in this car, perform jump stunts and of course the culmination of this would be a jump across a draw bridge in Saint Petersburg,” Starostin said.
