Yaffa Issachar, mother of Israeli citizen Naama Issachar who is serving a drug sentence in a penal colony in Moscow region, arrived to visit her daughter at the correctional facility on Tuesday after Moscow region's governor Andrei Vorobyev signed Naama's pardon request.
Her petition was forwarded to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday morning for final approval.

According to the Kremlin, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to arrive in Moscow on Wednesday to brief Putin on the US administration’s Middle East peace plan and also to discuss Naama Issachar's possible pardon.
The 26-year old Israeli-American was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison for drug possession and smuggling in October.
