Russia: Moscow condemns violence in Bolivia, welcomes Gaza Strip truce

Russia condemns the use of violence in Bolivia, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated at her weekly press briefing in Moscow on Thursday. She said that “Only chaos, loss of live and social-economic instability” were the results of using violence to solve political questions. The spokesperson also criticised interim president Jeanine Anez, saying she should try to unite... Еще Bolivians instead of deteriorating the already fragile situation. On Sunday, Bolivian President Evo Morales announced his resignation, following weeks of unrest in the wake of the disputed October 20 presidential election. Morales said he had received threats from opposition leaders and was eventually forced by the country's military to step down. Zakharova also commented on the Egypt-brokered ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine. “We hope that it will become a prologue for sustainable de-escalation. We urge the Israelis and the Palestinians to show restraint and to avoid any new outbreaks of violence,» Zakharova said.
