South Korean Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon expressed his gratitude to Russian President Vladimir Putin for his efforts in the denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula during a bilateral meeting at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Wednesday.
«The Korean government headed by President Moon Jae-in and me is always thankful to Russia for such an active support of our efforts to bring peace... Еще to the Korean Peninsula and to denuclearise it and development the cooperation between these two sides,» Nak-yeon said.
Vladimir Putin on his turn stated that the 'Nine Bridges' project is being negotiated with the South Korean side.
The «Nine Bridges' project was announced in 2017 by South Korean President Moon Jae-in as he proposed to build 'nine bridges of cooperation' between Korea and Russia. These nine include the bridge of gas, railway, the Northern Sea Route, shipbuilding, the creation of working groups, agriculture and other types of cooperation.
The Eastern Economic Forum, which has been held on an annual basis since 2015, works as a forum to develop political, economic and cultural ties between Russia and the Asia Pacific. The forum is held from 11 to 13 of September in Vladivostok.
This year's headline guests include the Japanese Prime Minister, the President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, the President of Mongolia Haltmagiin Buttulga and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea Lee Nak Yong.
