A FIFA delegation, together with representatives from the Russia 2018 Local Organising Committee (LOC), inspected the construction works at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium in the city of Nizhny Novgorod, on Saturday. Speaking to journalists, Smith said, «Construction works in the stadium are now reaching completion, I'm sure you'll agree it's a fantastic arena, nice and bright and airy.» Alexey Sorokin, LOC Chief, said that there is “a big will” in the Nizhny Novgorod region to get all the preparations sorted for next year's World Cup. The 2018 FIFA World Cup it is scheduled to take place in Russia from 14 June to 15 July, 2018. A total of 64 matches will be played in 12 venues located in 11 cities across Russia, with the final being expected to take place in Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.
