Russia: Hundreds of Vladivostok citizens join sacred procession to mark Orthodox Easter

Hundreds of citizens of the Russian far-eastern city of Vladivostok joined the sacred procession to mark Orthodox Easter on Sunday. The procession headed by priests passed through Vladivostok's central streets and culminated in all the participants carrying on celebrating Easter on the Sportivnaya Gavan Promenade. Throughout the procession the believers carried icons, candles and images of... Еще Christ and moving ahead under the ringing bells. Some uttered the Easter Acclamation; «Christ is Risen!» and others responded with «Truly, He is Risen!» While Catholic and Protestant churches marked Easter last Sunday, the Orthodox churches follow the Eastern calendar and therefore celebrate it this Sunday.
