Hundreds of mourners attended the opening of a monument on Tuesday to commemorate the victims of a plane bombing that killed more 200 people in the Sinai region of Egypt in 2015. The memorial was installed on the second anniversary of the tragedy and was designed by students of the Saint-Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering at Rumbolovskaya Hill in the Leningrad... Еще Region. Mourners lay flowers, candles, children's toys, as well as releasing white balloons to honour the victims. Russian Transport Minister Maksim Sokolov and Governor of the Leningrad Region Alexander Drozdenko were also in attendance. Metrojet Flight 9268 was about 23 minutes into a flight from Sharm el-Sheikh airport to St Petersburg when it exploded over the Sinai desert on October 31, killing all 224 people on board.
