Russia: 'Hard to imagine how it is possible to legally withdraw from the agreement' — Lavrov on Iran nuclear deal

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov doubted the legal basis for a US withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal at a press conference with his Burundian counterpart Alain Aime Nyamitwe following their meeting in Moscow, Thursday. Lavrov said that the «joint comprehensive action plan for the settlement of the Iranian nuclear issue» is «approved by the UN Security Council resolution» and is... Еще «subject to mandatory implementation.» He went on to say that he does not know what «will be announced by the Americans,» adding «given the status of the agreement, it is difficult to imagine how it is possible legally withdraw from it.» US President Donald Trump sought to «decertify» the Iran nuclear deal claiming that it is not in the country’s national interest. A decertification by Trump would leave it up to Congress to decide whether to pull the US out of the deal. Touching on the issue of external intervention in African policies, Minister for External Affairs of Burundi Alain Aime Nyamitwe said that «there is a need for African problems to find African solutions,» adding «external interference must be exclusively in the form of support of the efforts that are undertaken on the African continent.»
