Russia: FSB detains IS member in ‘Ukraine’ plot to kill Donestsk leader

An alleged member of Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) was arrested in Russia’s Smolensk region on Sunday over a Ukrainian plot to murder a Donetsk military leader, Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) said on Monday. During the arrest, the FSB seized an improvised explosive device (IED) as well as a firearm with ammunition. The FSB said that Magomedov admitted that the Ukrainian security services helped Islamic State to plot terror attacks in Russia.
