Russia: FSB detain members of alleged IS cell in Rostov region

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) released a video on Tuesday, showing the detention of three alleged members of the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL), who were allegedly plotting militant acts in the Rostov region. According to a FSB press release, the members of the militant cell, following the instructions of emissaries from Syria, planned to commit high-profile... Еще attacks with the use of firearms and improvised explosive devices (IED). The FSB agents seized firearms, ammunition, ready to use IEDs, as well as means of communication and electronic media from the militants. During the FSB’s operation, the leader of the cell reportedly fought back against arrest and detonated an unknown IED, wounding himself fatally.
