Russia: Foreign Ministry summons Austrian charge d'affaires over visa refusal to Crimean reporters

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Secretary General of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Thomas Greminger held a press conference in Moscow, on Friday, following the recent decision to deny Austrian visas to Crimean journalists at an upcoming OSCE meeting on press freedom. Lavrov called the failure to issue visas «an unacceptable situation» and «a mistake... Еще.» They did not get visas despite being previously registered as participants of a discussion called «The Role of Free Media in the Comprehensive Approach to Security,» which is taking place in over two days and ending on Friday. Secretary General of the OSCE, Thomas Greminger said he is counting «on the active engagement of the Russian Federation» in rebuilding trust and confidence in the Europe-Atlantic and the Eurasian area. The Russian Foreign Ministry summoned Austrian Charge d'affairs, Stephan Weidinger, over the visa refusal.
