Russia: Eat my snow! Russian planes blast cascades of snow in whiteout conditions

Russian Air Force pilots battled the elements on Thursday, as they carried out training flights under severe weather conditions and practiced landing on snow-covered runways at the Migalovo aerodrome in the Tverskaia Region. According to the Head of 196 military transport air regiment, Colonel Rusin, the world’s biggest production aircraft, the AN-124 Ruslan, was also used for training. Some... Еще pilots landed real aircraft for the first time. The Il-76, An-22 and An-26 aircrafts were fully loaded, with some weighing up to 200 tonnes. To make the flights possible, ground crews flattened the snow and added markings to it.
