An excavator equipped with hydraulic shears helped dismantling the remaining elements of a collapsed residential block in the industrial city of Magnitogorsk, as shown in drone footage released by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) on Wednesday. In total 899 people and 217 units of machinery, including three aircraft, are currently involved in the rescue operation and the dismantling of the building which is still ongoing. At about 06:00 local time (01:00 GMT) on Monday, an entire section of a 10-storey tower block in Magnitogorsk collapsed, causing dozens to be trapped under debris in freezing conditions. According to EMERCOM, 26 people have been confirmed dead while some 15 people remain missing.
