Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov participated in the sixth meeting of Heads of Security Services from almost 90 countries, in Krasnodar, Wednesday. In a press meeting, Lavrov announced that Russian diplomat Vladimir Voronkov will serve as the “coordinator for anti-terrorism” at the United Nations. The foreign minister added that “we proceed from the premise that this new department for the... Еще fight against terror will be formed in the very near future.” Lavrov also shared his thoughts on the recent attack by terror organisation Jabhat al-Nusra in Syria’s Idlib. “After agreeing the zone of de-escalation in this part of Syria, suddenly the militants violated their obligations and, with the support of Jabhat al-Nusra, tried to conquer the territories and repel them from the Syrian army. These attempts were stopped with our help,” said Lavrov.
