Russia: Construction on the «Wall of Grief» is well underway in Moscow

The construction of a monument to victims of Soviet repression, otherwise known as the ‘Wall of Grief’, continued in Moscow, on Friday. The monument stands at 30 metres (98.4 feet) high, 6 metres (19.7 feet) long and weighs 90 tonnes. It consists of dozens of unnamed statues, alongside a plaque engraved with the word ‘Remember’ in 22 languages. The wall will be decorated with faceless statues... Еще in order to provide an air of equality “because we can’t depict everyone” according to the sculpture’s designer Georgi Frangulyan. The ‘Wall of Grief’ is going to be unveiled on 30 October, which is the Day of Remembrance of Victims of Political Repression in Russia.
