Russia: Conflict zones «a profitable business» for international arms dealers — Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) with Foreign Countries in Moscow, Tuesday. Talking about international weapons market, the Russian leader said it is alarming that «the so-called moderate oppositionists receive weapons, and tomorrow it is [weapons] in the hands of radicals and terrorists.” According to Putin, “It... Еще seems like for some these hot spots and conflict zones have simply become a profitable business, a network of grey schemes [used] for the supply of weapons to countries and regions with an unstable military-political situation.” He emphasised that “exporting weapons is a huge responsibility for any state and it is very important that all participants of the global arms market understand this.»
