Russia: Children of IS fighters returned safely from Iraq to Moscow

Five Russian-speaking children arrived in Moscow, Wednesday, after being evacuated from an orphanage in Baghdad, where they had resided after being taken to Iraq by their parents who were reportedly in the country to fight for the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL). Footage captured the children receiving presents upon arrival at Vnukovo airport. Waiting for them was Anna... Еще Kuznetsova, children's rights commissioner for the President of the Russian Federation. «We’re very grateful to Ziyad Mukhamedovich [Sabsabi] for all the work that was done, it was a very serious undertaking, preparing all the documents and working with the ministry of foreign affairs. Now, with renewed strength, we have to look into rehabilitating the children,» she said. Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov has ordered his representative in the Middle East, Ziyad Sabsadi, to use his diplomatic connections to secure the return of Russian-speaking children currently housed in an orphanage in Baghdad. Their parents took them from Russia and the CIS when they joined the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL).
