CSKA Moscow goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev said that the Russian team “will show and prove that we can play on an equal footing” against AS Roma in the Champions League while speaking at a pre-match press conference in Moscow on Tuesday.
“Our team does not need indulgence because any team that plays in the Champions League, even if it has the weakest team, must go [on the field] and play,” Akinfeev... Еще said.
“These are high-ranking tournaments where you have to give everything, show your best football and your best qualities,” he added.
CSKA Moscow's head coach Viktor Goncharenko claimed that CSKA might “lack stability and balance.”
“It is important for us that we play correctly, and not only in the first minutes,” Goncharenko said.
CSKA will face AS Roma at Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium on Wednesday.
