Jubilant fans from the Russian cities of Kazan, Moscow and Nizhniy Novgorod went bonkers on Sunday after their national side secured a historic win over Spain. The Kazan fans could bee seen at the very moment Russia crushed Spain in the penalty shootout, hugging each other and singing their lungs out. Fans from Moscow took to the streets with some of them even blocking traffic. Car drivers... Еще started beeping and waving flags as a party atmosphere took over the city. Meanwhile some fans from the city of Nizhniy Novgorod broke into a dance on the streets after leaving the fan zone. After beating Spain 4-3 on penalties in the knockout phase, Russia will advance to the quarter-finals where they will face Denmark or Croatia. The match marks a huge upset for Spain as they were widely considered amongst the favourites for the tournament.
