Russia: ‘70 countries’ worldwide suffer from US sanctions — Deputy FM Ryabkov

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov commented on the US' decision to entend the anti-Russia sanctions, noting that it «undermines» the development of bilateral ties between the two countries, speaking in Sochi on Wednesday. Ryabkov noted that «as of today, about 70 countries exist in the world, whose citizens and organisations are somehow subject to American sanctions — the United... Еще States is undermining by its policy the bases of normal interaction and development of international relations on a global scale.» Ryabkov also warned of a possible «collapse» and «disintegration» of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on Tehran's nuclear programme, as a result of the US «unwinding the spiral sanctions against Iran.» On Tuesday, the US Treasury Department announced the extension of anti-Moscow sanctions, barring US companies and individuals from supporting Russian energy projects related to oil exploration and production in the Arctic. In October, US President Donald Trump refused to certify the JCPOA, which created a rift between Washington and Tehran.
