Around five thousand runners dressed as Father Frost turned out for the annual 2.5 km (1.6 miles) race, on Saturday, in St Petersburg. Starting at the Central Palace Square, the runners dressed in red coats, white beards and hats, raced through the Moyka River and Millionnaya street, crossing the finish line under the Arch of the General Staff Building. Snow started falling almost immediately... Еще after the race began drawing cheers from the spectators. Happy finishers were seen celebrating as they danced in a circle under huge Christmas tree. «I enjoyed it a lot, that's the main thing, I think,» said one of the senior participants.
