Around 6,500 filled Bucharest's Victory Square on Thursday to celebrate the sentencing of Social Democrat (PSD) chairman Liviu Dragnea in a high-profile corruption case. Dragnea was handed three-and-a-half years in prison on a charge of instigating the abuse of his office. The sentence is not final and it can be appealed within 15 days. The ruling was passed on a two against one vote by three... Еще justices from the Supreme Court. The rally came a day after the opposition filed a vote of no confidence in parliament against PSD leader Viorica Dancila. The previous day, the lower chamber fast-tracked a vote to amend the Criminal Procedure Code in such a way to allow Dragnea to dodge prison time.
