Romania: Canadian Armed Forces to help patrol Romanian skies

A certification ceremony was held at Airbase 57 in Constanta, Romania on Thursday, where a detachment of the Royal Canadian Air Force is participating in NATO enhanced Air Policing. The Canadian airmen are providing enhanced air policing patrols over the South-Eastern NATO border, and are equipped with CF-188 Hornet jet fighters. This is the third such mission for the Canadians in Romania, after... Еще previous tours of duty in 2014 and 2017. Romanian MiG-21 Lancers of Airbase 86 will be working closely with their Canadian allies in carrying out the enhanced air policing missions, which are also meant to develop the allied capacity to react and to deter, and also to strengthen the interoperability between the Romanian and Canadian Air Forces.
