Over 150 car enthusiasts came to bid their final farewells to the car key, as it was symbolically laid to rest in a jazz 'funeral' in Hamburg on Thursday, as part of an event to herald the arrival of Bosch's new keyless system.
In classic New Orleans style, jazz music was played throughout the ceremony — only instead of a coffin, pall-bearers carried a giant car key surrounded by flowers to its... Еще final resting place.
During the event, Bosch also unveiled their app-based keyless system, which uses Bluetooth technology to enable cars to be unlocked without the click of a button — with users needing only to stand near the car with their phone.
If their mobile phone battery is empty, car owners can also use near-field communication (NFC) to unlock their car and are able to disable the system altogether should they lose their phone.
The event took place as part of the Digital Kindergarten 2019 Xing Events 2019.
