Around 50 chefs cooked up roughly eight tones of the Uzbek national dish, pilaf, during the Festival of Traditional Culture O'zbegim, in Tashkent, Friday, reportedly breaking the Guinness World Record for the largest ever dish of this type.
The process of preparing the dish was broadcast on over 17 screens installed at the festival grounds. As part of the event there were cooking master classes... Еще, an art market and a gastronomic fair.
Around 1.5 tones of beef, 1.9 tones of rice, 2.7 tones of carrot and 220kg (485lbs) of onion were used to feed the guests.
