Quake-resistant CLAY homes come to Mexico's Oaxaca

A Mexican NGO has started building earthquake-resistant homes in the southern state of Oaxaca. Members of the NGO Red Global MX got to work on the beehive-shaped houses on Saturday, which are designed to survive seismic shocks. The houses are made from earth, lime, cement and a plastic mesh that retains the materials; and they are said to be able to withstand earthquakes, fires and floods... Еще. Each house includes a kitchen, living room, bathroom and bedroom. Many of the towns across the Oaxaca region were devastated by the September 7 and 19 earthquakes.
