The US island of Puerto Rico found itself without electricity on Wednesday, after an excavator struck a transmission line. Footage from Yauco, shows the city fallen into darkness on Wednesday, as well as residents queuing for petrol in the city of San German. The blackout was caused by the failure of a line between the oil-fired Aguirre generating complex in Salinas and AES Corp's coal-fired... Еще power plant in Guayama, according to authorities. The company COBRA was in charge of the operations and was working with reconstruction of the electrical system after Hurricane Maria hit the island in September. Half of the island was left in total blackness and citizens amassed oil in order to run generators to have electricity in their homes. On Thursday, electricity was restored to most of the citizens, however there are still some parts of the island that are effected by the issue.
