US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has blamed Russia for not preventing the alleged use of chemical weapons by Bashar al-Assad’s regime, at the joint press conference with the new Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz following a meeting between the two in Warsaw on Saturday. «We are holding Russia responsible for addressing [the deployment of chemical weapons in Syria]. They are Assad's... Еще ally,» said Tillerson. The Secretary of State also commented that Russia had «failed in their commitment» to identify and eliminate chemical weapons inside Syria. Tillerson reaffirmed the United States commitment to «dialogue» with Turkey concerning the conflict in Afrin, northern Syria, and reiterated that Ankara and Washington share the same goal of ridding Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS; ISIL) from the country. On the Secretary of State’s first visit to Poland, he also touched upon a number of other issues, including, defence, regional security and energy supply.
