Thousands of protesters rallied in central Warsaw on Saturday against what they call the government's homophobic policies. They also demanded the release of LGBT rights activists detained at a rally on Friday.
«I have one message to the government, to the police, to the prosecutor's office, to various right-wing organizations that like to act now too: we will not be intimidated,'' said one protester from stage.
The demonstration came a day after LGBT rights supporters scuffled with police who arrested prominent transgender activist Malgorzata Szutowicz, known as 'Margot' among nearly 50 others.
According to Polish media reports, Szutowicz was arrested for two months on Friday for protesting against 'anti-homosexual attitudes.'
