Thousands of battle remnants from various branches of the Prussian, Austrian and Russian armies were on display at the Collegium Polonicum in Kunowice, Lubusz Province, Monday. The items date back to the Seven Years' War (1756-63).
Lecturer at Adam Mickiewicz University Grzegorz Podruczny discussed his research team's the findings. «We have been conducting field research since 2009,» said... Еще Podruczny, adding that the team had found «over 9,000 monuments.» They are currently searching for a mass grave believed to be in the area.
«The most valuable pieces are those related to the Russian army because they are unique. As far as I know, there are no similar items in museum collections,» added the researcher. A reported 29 objects relating to soldier uniform and personal equipment have been identified so far.
