Polish President Andrzej Duda announced that he is going to sign two bills reforming the Polish justice system, at a press briefing at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw on Wednesday. “I have decided to sign both bills [on the Supreme Court and the National Council of the Judiciary]”, Duda said. He made clear that the two bills will be different from the «laws we had to deal with in July”, which... Еще were presented by the Law and Justice party, and which he vetoed. Duda said that the two new bills on the Supreme Court and the National Council of the Judiciary will further “democratise” Poland. The announcement follows the European Commission’s decision to invoke Article 7 of the Treaty of the European Union against Poland over the state of rule of law in the country.
