Poland: Pres. Duda casts vote in presidental election in Krakow

Polish President Andrzej Duda cast his ballot at a Warsaw polling station on Sunday as voting got underway in Poland's presidential elections. The election was originally set to be held May but was postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak. Duda, who is running as an independent candidate aligned with the ruling conservative Law and Justice (PiS) party, is predicted to win around 40 percent of the vote, necessitating a second round run-off scheduled for July 12. He is facing his main challenge from the liberal mayor of Warsaw and candidate of the centre-right Civic Platform (PO) party, Rafal Trzaskowski, who is estimated to have the support of around 30 percent of the electorate.
