Dozens of protesters took to the streets of Quezon City, Wednesday, gathering at the gates of the headquarters of the Philippine National Police, popularly called Camp Crame, to decry the recent spate of drug-related killings under «Operation Double Barrel» or «Tokhang», Wednesday. Raymond «Mong» Palatino, Convenor at Stop the Killings Network, stated that the war on drugs has turned into a «war... Еще against the poor» and that President Rodrigo Duterte wants to rule by spreading fear. «The Filipino people will resist this emerging tyranny represented by the Duterte presidency», he stated. A 17-year-old student was killed recently by police after he was accused of selling drugs. The killing sparked nationwide protests and government investigations. The war on drugs has so far left an estimated 5,500 people dead.
