Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced that Russia and Indonesia will present a document on «countering the ideology of terrorism» at an upcoming meeting of the East Asian Summit in Manila, speaking to the press on the sidelines of an ASEAN meeting in the Philippine capital on Tuesday. «At the meeting of the leaders of the East Asian Summit, which will be held in Manila in the autumn... Еще, a decision has been made to produce a draft document, prepared together by Russia and Indonesia,» said Lavrov. He explained that «[the document] is dedicated to counteracting the ideology of terrorism. Everybody agrees that this is the most important topic and it is necessary to deal with it closely. We are also promoting a similar initiative in New York within the framework of the United Nations.» The head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also touched on the situation surrounding North Korea. «Of course we will continue the dialogue with our North Korean colleagues. I expect that with a sensible approach from all players, including the United States, the Republic of Korea and Japan, we will be able to find a solution that suits all parties,» Lavrov stated. The foreign minister also joked briefly about how US President Donald Trump had pushed the prime minister of Montenegro during a meeting at the NATO headquarters in Brussels in May. «[Have you seen], how [Donald] Trump pushed the prime minister of Montenegro?» Lavrov asked reporters.
