Philippines: Islamic State finances ‘cut off’ says Russia’s defence minister

The finances of Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIL/ISIS) has been “practically cut off” according to Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu speaking at the joint meeting of the Association of the Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN ) defence ministers in Luzon, Philippines on Tuesday. According to the Russian minister «Some 948 training camps, 666 factories and munitions manufacturing workshops, and 1... During the conference, Shoigu underlined that more than 1 million people have returned to their homes in Syria since 2015 with 660,000 returning in 2017 alone. ASEAN unites 10 countries of the Asia-Pacific region. Russia, the United States, China, India, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand are their official partners. ‌
