Peruvians duke it out during traditional Christmas fighting festival

Hundreds of people got violent in the annual Takanakuy fighting festival in Lima, Monday. The Christmas Day festival originates from Chumbivilcas community in the Andes when disgruntled neighbours would physically fight out any grievances from the previous year. The first time the event was held in the Peruvian capital was in 2014. The fighting tradition dates back centuries in the Andean... Еще mountains and was used as a way to resolve conflicts and improve relationships even between children and the elderly.
