Dozens of women gathered outside a Lima police station on Tuesday night to protest an alleged rape by three police officers in the city of Paramonga, 200 km (124 mi) north of the capital.
The women are seen waving signs, chanting «rapist police» and yelling at police officers in riot gear who used their shields to push the demonstrators.
«The police, the ministry of the interior, the national... Еще police, the chiefs, the authorities, and the President should be here giving us answers, and not letting this police come and assault us and be violent with us because we're furious, we're furious that they rape us, burn us, kill us, « said one of the protesters.
The protest was sparked by the rape of an 18-year-old girl in Paramonga who accused three police officers of holding her captive for 11 hours and raping her. The ministry of the interior announced an investigation is underway and that the officers involved have been arrested.
