Thousands of people took to streets of Lima, on Thursday, to support female survivors of sexual abuse and to call on the government to take measures against sexual violence. Protesters marched through the capital's streets, shouting chants and holding anti-violence banners. Demonstrators claimed that the problem has been largely ignored by the authorities. «I am here to oppose acts of... Еще violence against minors, but adult women too, because women of all ages become victims of violence. However, the most reprehensible acts are those against girls. I am also here to demand that the state takes measures, because the state does not act and by doing so, it becomes an accomplice of the violence against girls and against women in general,» said one of the protesters. The protest, called 'March for justice, security and peace for our children', follows the rape and murder of 11-year-old Jimena Renace, which occured in the Lima's district of San Juan de Lurigancho.
