Scuffles broke out in Lima on Monday when police tried to prevent protesters opposing the dissolution of Peru's Congress from blocking the street.
Footage shows the protesters chanting slogans and carrying banners reading 'dictator' and depicting Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra, and other signs comparing the dissolution to a coup.
The protest was reportedly initiated on social media by a... Еще group called 'Citizens against the coup'.
The dissolution announcement came after lawmakers voted to replace almost all Constitutional Court judges despite the objections of President Vizcarra, who presented a vote of confidence to the Parliament in an attempt to prevent the replacements. Vizcarra dissolved the Parliament after it appointed a new justice.
Opposition politicians who held the majority in Congress said the dissolution amounted to a coup.
