Police of the Peruvian city of Tacna have launched an awareness campaign in which officers dressed as the coronavirus and the Grim Reaper walk the streets telling citizens to keep the security distance among them, as seen on Friday.
Agents walk through the city stopping at places where larger crowds are gathering, such as banks, supermarkets or shopping malls, and asking citizens to stay at least... Еще two metres away from each other to prevent the spread of the virus.
«In this way people can also see it in a more dynamic way, and that can create awareness of how important this is, that is why we are here, with the team of communication department going out in the streets of Tacna, so people can become aware,” explained agent Wendy Arias.
Peru's President Martin Vizcarra announced on Thursday the extension of the state of emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic until May 24, two weeks more than was initially planned.
Peru has 61,847 infected and 1,714 related deaths so far due to the disease, according to government sources.
