Forensic workers began the exhumation of remains in a mass grave in Panama City on Wednesday, in an attempt to identify the bodies of 19 victims of the 1989 US invasion of the country.
Footage filmed on Wednesday shows the area surrounded by yellow tape and workers digging the ground at Jardin de Paz cemetery.
Relatives of the victims who were attending the works expressed mixed feelings... Еще, saying they hoped to put an end to the search for their beloved ones.
The exhumation was approved by local authorities, after three years ago a truth commission provided evidence of nearly 20 disappearances at the hands of the US military in their action to topple Panama former dictator manuel Noriega.
A DNA test will be carried out on the remains, with results expected in months.
